In our recent anonymous survey of 80 students and parents,

100% revealed that the school's curriculum exceeded their expectations.

Dear Laurie and Emmanuel,

I wanted to tell you how pleased we are with the quality of lessons Christopher and Heather are receiving from you. It is wonderful to know that they are getting from you all the elements that are critical to be complete musicians; ear training, theory, note-reading, composition and music appreciation. It makes all the difference, I think, that you are professional musicians as well as outstanding teachers!  We continue to be impressed with how much both children know and can implement in their music. Gretchen R. - Parent

Whether you are a seasoned professional pianist looking to polish your skills or an aspiring pianist-to-be, I urge everyone who has the desire to learn and benefit from exceptional guidance and coaching to seek out Emmanuel and Laurie as teachers. Be it classical or jazz improvisation, in an environment that is stress-free, they help you find your niche as a musician while encouraging and nurturing a relationship with the piano that is both fun and remarkable at the same time. I am a professional singer-songwriter and my skills as a musician have advanced well beyond any of my wildest expectations ! I can't thank Emmanuel and Laurie enough for their wonderful and personal approach.  Mark C., Adult student

I want my daughter to learn music because I think it will help her to focus and also discipline. Your teaching has exceeded my expectations. Her teacher is tough but fair and has a LOT of patience! Marylou M. - mom to daughter age 7

My observation is that all teachers of the Piano Academy teach the same curriculum but just have different personalities. It certainly has benefited my child to get a very systematic teacher. My child doesn't want to change teachers and is convinced that her teacher knows what she is doing.  A systematic and steady approach builds confidence in reading  playing and composing music. Thank you for all of your patience with her!! Mom to daughter 10 yrs old

This school has given me the gift of making lovely music in my home. I've never had anything other than complete support for all my varied and changing musical interests. The instruction in harmony, structure, reading and interpretation has all been first rate. Jeff G. - Adult Jazz and Classical Student

I am very happy with how my son's lessons are going. They have exceed my expectations. Emmanuel is always very encouraging, patient and has high (but not impossible) expectations for our 6-yr old. Emmanuel is an excellent teacher. I also like that the school is small and personable. Thank you! Tammy K. - mom to Michael age 6

I have never come so far in my understanding of the piano keyboard as I have since studying with at the NoHo Piano Academy. Piano is not my primary instrument and it has always been a challenge. I have taken lessons before, even in college, but the result was that I would learn a piece of music, memorize it, play it for a grade and then quickly forget it. It was because I never had a broader picture of the keyboard concepts.

At the Academy, I have begun to understand the bigger musical picture and finally learning and playing the piano has become fun. I have always wanted to be able to sit down at the piano and play and improvise and finally I am beginning to realize that goal. Emmanuel and Laurie are gifted and inspiring teachers.
Robert S. - Adult student

We want her to be exposed to music by different composers, develop an appreciation for music theory and understand that many opportunities in music exist. We are very pleased to have our Daughter with Sumitra. She is enjoying her learning experience so far!  David C. - Dad to daughter age 6

My Children have very little to no music education at school. (Very unfortunate!) and I find it absolutely essential for them to learn to play an instrument during their formative year--a gift for life! I love your style of teaching. Barbara F. - mom to very musical boys age 7 and 10
